This
ancient Cornish mining town will amaze you with its wealth of talent.
But the treasures to be found are not only artistic - within the town
there are some friendly pubs, with people to match, and some excellent
cafés and restaurants, making it the ideal destination for
a family day out or longer stay.
Once
you have been to St Just you will want to return again and again,
perhaps to discover its other secrets. From the live folk music in
The Star to the colourful Lafrowda Festival, and the miracle plays
of The Ordinalia, a five-hundred year old cycle of plays, written
for the people of St Just and performed in the Plen an Gwary, or Playing
Place - Cornish culture is thriving here.
The immediate
area provides you with plenty to do and see. If you fancy a round
of golf there is Cape Cornwall Golf & Country Club or you could
visit ancient sites such as Bollowal Barrow, Chapel Carn Brea, or
St Helens Oratory. There are superb coastal walks such as the
secluded valleys of Cot and Kenidjack, and of course there is Cape
Cornwall, known as The Connoisseurs Lands End.
